Activity 8: Changes in practice
Wow! What a rollercoaster journey this Mind Lab journey has been. The past 32 weeks has flown by. “Reflective practice is viewed as a means by which practitioners can develop a greater level of self-awareness about the nature and impact of their performance, an awareness that creates opportunities for professional growth and development” (Osterman & Kottkamp, 1993, p.2). Two key changes in my own research informed practice in relation to the New Zealand Practising Teacher Criteria (Ministry of Education, n.d.): Criteria 6: Conceptualise, plan, and implement an appropriate learning programme. A key change in my teaching practice has been re-thinking how I integrate learning experiences that will foster and develop 21st Century Skills.
